A lot of energy throughout the season was allocated to create a more functional Basekamp with improved systems. We've converted another shipping container into a new storage area, our waste is now more organise and we've started our mini material bank. Besides the container we've replaced a worn out tent cover with an old tarp from a truck.
We bought an old rusty pig trailer and converted it into a living space, using as much recycled materials as possible. For the outside material we could only find these colored panels, we let our Patreons vote on the pattern. This old rusty trailer is now the first non-van and non-tent living space in the Kamp.
This old yellow van from the German Post got a makeover. It doesn't drive anymore and was slowly degrading inside due to the harsh weather at the Kamp. We fixed it up with a new roof and interior from an old basketball floor.
We've been trying new things to tackle some of our fundamental questions about waste, short-term accommodation, reforestation and energy consumption. We made a roof out of cans, prototyped a small tent, tried different approaches to remove mimosa trees, and built a biodigester.
This season, we've beaten the record for the number of people on the land. That offered us a very clear requirement, build a second toilet & upgrade our poop system.
It's becoming part of our yearly calendar the harvesting moments with our neighbours. They all say "It's like the old times!" when a group of 15 or 20 people come together to harvest potatoes, grapes and corn.
We gave the first baby steps for water management. Usually, a lot of rain falls on the land during winter, and summers are normally extremely dry. This contrast makes the land and this region very prone to fires. So this year, we started redesigning and clearing the existing water reservoirs. We dug a lake and cleaned up a lagoon around the waterfall

Financially, this year we have spent a total of €93252.67 .As you can see the most part of our money goes into general running costs, which last year were food, car costs, video making, internet, gas etc. And the Pig Trailer was a big project. Below a few other fun stats, we're trying to get more each year so we can keep track of the progress. :)
